Bat-Look #2

Basic Batman Tee

Sometimes you gotta keep it simple. So today's look is a classic batman tee topped with a blazer and complimented with yellow pants and a batman purse. From now on, I'm referring it to the bat-purse

5 Days of Batman: Bat-Look #1

Out and about

In celebration of the upcoming Lego Batman Movie, I've decided to give you guys a different "Bat-Look" everyday leading up to the movie premier on Friday. Today's look is a dressy causal look, going crazy with the bat symbol. Just in case you needed some more batman to go with the rest of your batman. It's still wintertime, so those shoes might not be the best choice. But Hey, beauty is pain right?

Where Have I Been???

That's the million dollar question isn't it? I wish I could give you a reasonable explanation, but my only real explanation is that I've been lazyyy! Recently, I've been trying to figure out where I want this blog to go and I think I have a pretty good idea. So now I'm working on doing a blog makeover! I'm gonna start with the name. Keep it Geek sounds good, but I've thought of something better: SuperLooks! It just fits so perfectly! The whole point of this blog is show off my superhero style (granted it's mostly marvel and batman, but still) and every look is a "super" look. Even if it's not blatantly obvious that it's based off of a superhero.  I want to show the world that you can dress geeky, and look sophisticated at the same time. Middle school days are over. A basic graphic tee and baggy jeans wont cut it anymore. Plus, there's so much cute geek clothes and accessories out there! And for reasonable prices! I'm making it my mission to show everyone!

I know I have been M.I.A for a while, but that's because I've finally moved into my own apartment! And it took me about two weeks after to get the internet setup. But now everything is sorted out. Let me show you guys what I've done with the place so far. Mind you I don't have any real furniture yet. I'll get that at some point. I have an air mattress and that's good enough for now. It's definitely better than sleeping on a love seat!

So I guess I'll start with the living room. All I have in there right now is my comic shelf and I've started on my "Great Wall". Basically my great wall is a wall full of framed comics. And not just any comics, shiny ones! I love collecting shiny comics and I always said that if I had my own place that I would frame them and hang them on the wall.

Next, I have the kitchen. There's not much to show for it except for my wine bottle collection (if you can't tell, I have a problem with collecting things). Let me add in that I acquired all these over a period of time. I'm in no way and alcoholic. I just like wine bottles. Most of them weren't very good anyway. For some reason I kept getting the bitter ones like Pinot Noir. Moscato was really good, but
I don't think there was enough alcohol in it.
Lastly, I have the bathroom. It's still a work in progress. I'm almost done with it but I need a shower curtain valance and a black bath mat. And yes, it's a batman bathroom. I pay bills, I pay rent, and if I want a batman bathroom, then I"m gonna have a batman bathroom!

And that's my place so far! I don't have any pictures of the bedroom because for one, it's a mess. and two, there's nothing really great in it. I haven't got my posters up yet because I'm still figuring out where furniture is gonna go. But when I figure it out, I'll show you. Until then, remember to keep it geek!

Another New Video!

This week's video is about me showing off my holo-foil comic collection. My initial comic collection is well over 100, so doing a video for all of them would take too much time.

Here's where you can go to keep up with your own comic collection

Shopping Tips!

Shopping Tips

These are some shopping tips that I've acquired in the years of me clothes shopping and I want to share them with you in hopes that you find them useful. Mind you there aren't that many, but I still find it useful

1. Wear your hair in a ponytail or some kind of up-do. If you're going shopping for clothes, my best guess is that you're going to be taking clothes off and putting them back on and that can mess up your hair. Especially when it's down and can get tangled up in everything. Keeping it in a bun or ponytail or whatever keeps the crazy hair to a minimum. So after hours of dressing room time, you still look good!

2. Wear a dress. It will save you a lot of time in the dressing room if you have a dress to just slip on and off. A skirt would be my second option. I guess it depends on what you're shopping for. Like, if it's just general clothes shopping or you're looking for a new shirt, wear a dress. If you're just pants and/or skirt shopping, then wearing a skirt would be fine. In any situation wearing a dress is the best way to go.

3. Wear slip on shoes. Any shoes without a buckle or lace will work. Zippers are fine. Heels? That depends on the person. I mean, if you've got the skills to walk around the mall all day in heels, then go for it! I won't stop you. But for me, I have to wear some sort flat shoe if I know I'm gonna be on my feet for awhile. Ballet flats, regular flats, vans, toms, sandals (not gladiator!), flip-flops,boots, and even kitten heels are all good options. The reason to wear these type of shoes is pretty much the same as the dress. It makes dressing and undressing easier and faster.

I hope these few tips helped! These are things that I do when I know I'm going out clothes shopping. Most of the time I shop online so I don't go out much. But when I do, I'm ready!
